Green Grid Symposium

The Danish Green Grid Symposium focused on the implementation of a secure and smart energy transmission infrastructure.

The primary goal of the symposium was to underpin the process of developing new strategies and solutions in regard to a high level of renewable energy penetration and to set up a network of key stakeholders from the European and American energy sector, in order to share experience in the field.

The symposium shed light on key issues and challenges when increasing levels of renewable energy integration, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and maintaining economic growth without compromising the security of supply.

By using presentations, interactive workshops and field trips, the symposium addressed several issues: how smart transmission management can pave the way for a high level of renewable energy penetration; the role of markets as a means to maximizing penetration; and how to achieve the goal of seamless integration of end-use customer measures and distributed energy resources.

Climate Consortium Denmark plans to run a new session of the symposium in the fall of 2010.
