Climate Consortium Denmark helps international journalists and media representatives from around the world to visit Denmark and experience the many efficient and proven climate and energy solutions we provide. Over the past 18 months Climate Consortium Denmark has hosted more than 300 international journalists in Denmark.

They have had the chance to get a first hand account of the Danish energy story: In October 1973, the Danes awoke to the cold and unstable realities of the international oil crisis. Back then, Denmark was more than 90 per cent dependent on imported oil, and the crisis sparked a complete turnaround in the production and consumption of energy, and today Denmark is a front runner in renewables and energy efficiency. What started out as a harsh diet of high energy taxes and rigorous regulatory framework has developed into a billion-dollar industry providing tens of thousands of Danish jobs. In the same period the Danish economy has grown by almost 80 per cent, while the country has retained a stable level of energy consumption. The world is now looking to Denmark for renewables, efficient clean energy and ready-to-use technologies.
