New cooperation will keep green offshore industry in front

95 percent of the world’s offshore wind turbines are either Danish produced or have Danish foundations and installation solutions. To stay a front runner as an offshore wind nation, an alliance of different partners have established the Lindoe OffshoreRenewables Center.

A new center for Green Energy Offshore will be established at a former steel shipyard. The center is focusing on research, development  and innovation.

The purpose is to get the Danish green offshore industry ready to meet the future challenges.

- We can only stay front runners if we join forces. The Alliance for Green Offshore Energy is a new exciting and flourishing cooperation that will quickly provide visible results and echoes in Brussels, says Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, former Danish prime minister and the chairman of the new research and innovation center, Lindoe Offshore Renewables Center.

The alliance consists of Offshore Center Denmark and The Region of Southern Denmark and the alliance will be exchanging knowledge on a high level, while acting as the centre of cooperation between authorities, research institutions, organisations and companies.

Furthermore, the alliance is to collect knowledge about the possibilities of support from the EU and strengthen the Danish position by offering qualified help to apply for funding for different projects.
